Square Christmas Wreaths

CREATE A POSTER AND FOLDS-Tutorial-

votar

First of all I want to use this tutorial to wish you a Happy New Year 2011, which is full of satisfaction and health.

Today I will show you create a poster, from scratch, and with the tools and Burns Dodge, creating effects of folds in a very simple and interesting.
As always, I say we are interested in learning the art for later use in your work, as they are very useful.

STARTED:

1. CONTROL + N . New file. Set it to your liking.

2. Ctrl + Shift + N . New layer.

3. Select MARCO RECTANTGULAR tool (Press the letter M) and make a rectangular selection, the size you want, in the new layer.

4. Selected as the foreground color you like (in my case I chose the blue color) and then you fill the selection with that color: Edit> Fill: Foreground .

5. pressing the letter T to activate the tool TEXT and write you please (in my case I have Happy New Year 2011).

6. Press CONTROL + E to combine text layer with the banner.

7. CONTROL + T to activate the Transform tool FREE.

- Click inside the Free Transform box right click and select 90 º ACD, to turn the lineup.

- now give a curvature to the banner using DISTORTION Filter, Filter> Distort> Shear: Click on the center vertical line and move. Make curbatura to your liking.

- Replace the sign to its original position: right click and choose the 90 º AC .

8. Once we have the poster, with text, bent (slightly) and in its original position, press CONTROL + T to activate the tool FREE TRANSFORMATION and lower anchor points (the end) we introduce a little inward.

- This way we get to those corners of the cartel, fall.

9. FILTER> Texture> Texturizer . Select CANVAS Texture pop-up menu.

- That got him naturally to the lineup, so it is not as flat and smooth.

10. As you can see the result of applying the texture filter to the lineup has been very strong, so we're going to reduce the effect, using a simple procedure:

- EDITION> TEXTURE TRANSITION: Reduce the Opacity to 30% . With this we reduce the intensity.

- This procedure can be used with all filters, so that when you apply, a filter and the result is very strong, I went to Edit> Fade ... and you lower the Opacity.

11. Now begins the shading of the cartel:

- Select the Burn tool (Press the letter O). Choose a brush size diffuse medium and reduce the opacity between 20/40%, to achieve an effect not too intense.

- Paint a curve, not very steep, going by the Poster from one of the top corners to the other.

- Press the ALT to switch temporarily to the tool and paint dodge another curve, although this will parallel to the front and above it, to get clear of the area was dark.

- The combined effect, to make a curve with Burns and the other to dodge, is to create a lighted area above the crease and a shadow underneath.

12. Again using the Burn tool paint another curve, below the previous. More or less from one side to another.

- Use a low opacity and go over the shadows in areas that require more intensity.

- Press the ALT key to temporarily work with the dodge tool and paint over the dark parts (as we did before.) In this way we paint the clear that is above the shadow.

- COUNCIL: Sure I first did not go well the desired effect when we use the dodge tool, do not worry click CONTROL + Z to UNDO and keep trying.

13. Now we just have to repeat the procedure until you reach the bottom of the poster. In this way we get the effects creases and give the impression that this is a piece of cloth hanging.

14. To improve the lineup a little, add a fold in the area near the corners (you know, with Burn and Dodge brush at low opacity).

- NOTE: To make the edges look more credible poster, folds drawn with the Burn and Dodge tool should not arrive at their own corners or sides of the cartel, but must be parallel to the folds already drawn.

That's it! so simple this way we have learned to create effects of folds using Burn and Dodge tools.
I hope you find them useful.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO CREATE FOG AND SNOW-Tutorial-

votar

Christmas is approaching and winter, and in some places will be beautiful snowy landscapes.

For those places where snow is scarce, and the fog, I created this tutorial, very easy to perform and the most curious, as we will create the effect of a heavy snowfall or of a day with plenty of fog .

all depends on the picture you don't use.

In my case I have used a photo I made last year in Merida exceptionally snowed one day.
I say as usual, the interest of my tutorials is to learn the art for later use in your work.

STARTED:

1. CONTROL + O and open the file you are going to use for this tutorial. (Recommended a photograph containing snow or fog)

2. Ctrl + Shift + N , to create a new layer.

3. Activate Tool DEGRADED , pressing the letter G .

- Select the Linear Gradient as gradient: Color Front / Clear .

- EYE before the path to assure that you have as foreground color WHITE .

- Now, draw a line from top to bottom (press the letter for it to be straight).

4. Lower the Opacity of this layer to 75% (approximately).

5. Then we put in background layer (ie the picture you have chosen) and we apply an "adjustment layer "

- Click on the icon located in the bottom of the Layers palette, which is a circle half white, half black. - Select

SELECTIVE CORRECTION - After opening the dialog box to choose NEUTRAL COLORS , activáis as the METHOD ON (Click small circle, if this option is checked, and that usually comes on by default) and color BLACK Put -45.

6. Situate them back into the layer and then FUND do this:

- IMAGE> ADJUSTMENTS> BRIGHTNESS / CONTRAST : Brightness and Contrast 15 10 .

7. And as a finishing touch to enhance the effect we do this:

- Select the layer where we make the DEGRADED (if you put her name will be the Layer1).

- Change the blending mode to SUPERIMPOSE (as by default you will have the NORMAL mode).

- Lower 65% OPACITY (approximately).

so easy we have created an effect of fog and heavy snow. Then we will continue to create another nice effect ... "Snow on text. "

7. pressing the letter T to activate the tool TEXT , pick a font you like (to this effect will be either a Type COMIC SANS) and enter the text you want.

8. Then click on the icon Add layer styles ( fx) button at the bottom of the Layers palette and select Bevel and Emboss .
-Put these settings: 2px in size; 4px in Smooth and lower the Shadow Mode Opacity to 50% .

9. Do not close the dialog box Layer Style. Then apply the effect STROKE -is on the left side of the dialog box, with this configuration: Size 1px; Opacity 25% as choosing the color black . Click OK .

10. CONTROL + SHIFT + N to create a blank layer and apply these effects: clicking on the icon again fx-add-layer style and select Inner Glow .
- Put these settings: 60% Opacity, choose black as color, Size 3px; Range 60% and other values \u200b\u200bas-is. Pulseis not OK yet.

11. Now select the Bevel and Emboss effect -as I said in step 9 you will find on the left side of the dialog box, and set it by:
- 2px Size and leave the rest as stock comes default. Now click OK to apply these effects in the empty layer that we created in the previous step.

12. Press the letter D to select the color front / back by default, ie black / white and then press the letter X to trade him and get the foreground color white .

13. pressing the letter B to activate the tool BRUSH , choose a 100% hardness and size I leave to your taste but some of 10/20px will be good to create the effect. Then start painting over the areas to place the text wherever you want snow ... and enjoy

That is all. We have learned in an easy and colorful create fog and snow.
I hope you find it useful because it is technical with many variations and applications.

are

many techniques can be used to apply a texture but I am going to teach, using a haciendu displacement map is very well fitted, as is done to match the texture with different depths of an image.
sea is an interesting technique, easy to make and very good results. EYE
, the two images to use must be equal size and resolution for this, if different, go to IMAGE> IMAGE SIZE and dialog, the Document Size section, write the same values , ie if the first image is 18 cm wide by 13.05 high and resolution 150 px / inch Open the second image as a texture and copies will wear the same size and resolution at this point which I said "IMAGE> IMAGE SIZE: Document Size section.

STARTED:

1. CONTROL + O and select the image that you are going to apply the texture.

2. Again, press CONTROL + O and open the image that will wear as texture, in my case I chose the image of a rock like texture.

3. Press CONTROL + A to select the entire image of the texture and CONTROL + C to copy it. Now you can close it and place you in the file where we have the image that we will apply the texture.

4. CONTROL + V to paste the image, which will be the texture, the document in Step 1. Now we will see the initial image as a background and a second layer of texture.

5. Place you in the background layer and press Ctrl + J to make a duplicate of it. Clicking the right mouse button on the duplicated layer, select layer properties and name it as IMAGE. A place you in the layer below the image you'll use as a texture-click it, Layers palette, and once activated Make-click the right mouse button you choose the option properties of layers and putting him TEXTURE name.

6. We continue to layer "Texture." Change the Blend Mode of this Layer to Overlay. As you can see the texture keeps straight lines marked on the layer of "Picture." To accommodate the texture to the image we will create a displacement map.

7. Click the eye icon to the left of the texture layer in the Layers palette to hide it. Now it will be invisible. Then click the texture layer to activate it and put us on it. CHANNEL-open tab is in the Layers palette between the layers and form of paths. Place you in the Canal Azul, do click the right mouse button and select Duplicate Channel. In this dialog box choose the option New from the Document section of the target option and put it a name, at your choice.

8. We have a new document. We are in the. Do this step: Filter> Blur> GAUSSIN: Put him 9px worth of Radio. Thus, we achieve, then soften the edges a bit and the texture is docked smoothly.

9. Press CONTROL + SHIFT + S and save the document, which will be our displacement map in a folder on your hard disk. I recommend you to believe a folder named Maps Transport and keeping it going all the documents you do for later use as a map, use the Filter Displace.

10. Now back to the original document, which we with three layers, Fund - Image and Texture "and click on the RGB channel to restore the color of the image. Click on the Layers tab and make visible the texture layer, which was hidden by clicking on the empty square that is left of the layer in the Layers Palette, which previously had an eye icon.

11. Now the magic begins. Go to Filter> Distort> Displace and dialog, that shows, enter the following values: 20 in paragraphs Horizontal Scale and Vertical Scale, in section Displacement Map Do click on the Stretch option, in the Do Undefined Areas section click Repeat Edge Pixels, and then click OK.

12. Photoshop then we wonder where is the displacement map. Simply have to select the one you created earlier - Step 7 - and click on Open.
That is all. Take a look at the picture and see how the texture is attached to the image.

- COUNCIL: If you wish, you can add a layer mask to the layer of "texture" and paint over it with a brush in black to hide parts of the image that you wish that the texture is applied .
Practice, practice, practice ... will attain impressive results.
